I stumbled upon Cadillac’s Castle soon after moving to New York City a few years ago, when I came to the sad realization that my new studio apartment simply did not have enough closet space to hold all of the clothing, shoes and accessories I had lugged with me from Boston. Cadillac’s, owned by the lovely Kreg and Joanne, specializes in high-end consignment and designer resale. In addition to its constantly changing consignment inventory, Cadillac’s has relationships with various fashion houses and typically stocks designer samples. The majority of items at Cadillac’s are new with tags, and the boutique usually carries a variety of small sizes. The store is immaculate and is one of the few shops in the city with 4.5 stars on Yelp. It’s a hidden East Village gem.
On my most recent visit, it was tough not to walk out with this new Alice + Olivia sequin minidress (size 0). Hanging behind it were dresses by Adam, Marc Jacobs, DVF, Cynthia Steffe, Alexander Wang and Betsey Johnson.
On the end of this rack was a leather Louis Vuitton skirt I was obsessed with. Next to it were garments from high-end designers including Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli, Narciso Rodriguez, Prada and Bally. Oh, and a collection of Chanel jackets. Most with the tags still on.
City Gal loves sequins, especially this new DVF miniskirt (size P). Behind this DVF mini were skirts from Balenciaga, Juicy, Marc Jacobs, Elie Tahari, Michael Kors and Dior.
On this rack hung lots of summer whites, including several brand new Jill Stuart dresses with a splash of Burberry, Catherine Malandrino, Laundry and BCBG.
In the market for a new bikini? Cadillac’s is your answer. Don’t worry, these bikinis from Ralph Lauren, Shoshana, Ella Moss and Nanette Lepore were all brand new with tags (per store policy).
Cadillac’s also has a fantastic shoe collection, which included the below metallic blue Christian Louboutins (size 39), gold Guccis (size 8.5) and Fendi peep toes (size 39).
On another shelf sat these grey Christian Louboutins (size 38), Guiseppe Zanotti leopard sandals (size 39.5) and Alice + Olivia patent platform pumps (size 39).
Not in the market for shoes? Perhaps a Gucci belt or Chanel umbrella is more your taste. Cadillac’s also sells scarves, sunglasses and jewelry. Plus, they have a $25 rack where you can always score a great deal. Make sure to visit before the above items are sold!
